1993 U.S. Open Championship - Mike Sigel vs. Johnny Archer

Watch classic pool match online with this video of two legendary pool players Mike Sigel matching up against Johnny Archer.  This was a match recorded by Accu-Stats back in the early 90's.  At that time, Mike Sigel was already a legend with more than 100 titles and many U.S. Open titles.  Johnny was in the early part of his pro pool career and still trying to win his first U.S. Open title, one that alluded him for too long.

This pool match is a quarter-final match.  It is a 9-ball match, race to 11.

The video stream quality is not the best, but the pool play is top-notch and the commentary is superb.  Worth every minute.

Here we go again. The American and European "all-stars" of pool are matching up in the 18th edition of the Mosconi Cup Series. This should prove to be a great one, because there are some true legends, mixed with some world-class younger players. Should be some great competitive pool to watch.

The Mosconi Cup features 5 of the best pool players from Europe and the U.S. matching up in team and head-to-head competition. It is truely a unique and interesting format for a pool match. If you've never watched one of the Mosconi Cup Matches, you should give it a try. You will probably enjoy it.

This year's American Mosconi Cup team members consist of Johnny Archer, Shawn Putnam, Rodney Morris, Shane Van Boening and Mike Dechaine. BTW...Is there a TV event that Souquet hasn't played in over the last 15 years...amazing.

The first match is played by all 5 players.
Match 2: Archer/Putnam vs. Melling/Van Den Berg
Match 3: Morris vs. Feijen
Match 4: Van Boening/Dechaine vs. Appleton/Souquet
Match 5: Van Boening vs. Melling

This is definitely going to be a tough matchup for the Americans. They are going to have to play great to win, but they can do it and I'm pulling for them.

Johnny Archer vs Chris Lynch at the World 14.1 Tournament

Wow, I love the new straight pool videos by Inside Pool Magazine.  It is so much more enjoyable to watch them in 720p or better at full screen.  Let me know if you agree.  It is hard to go back and watch the older pool matches.

Anyhow, this straight pool match features the legendary pro player, Johnny Archer matching up against Chris Lynch at the World 14.1 Tournament in New Brunswick, NJ (2011).   This pool match is during the round-robin part of the tournament. It is a 100 point game.

They had a good size field this year, at 64 players.  This is a good 14.1 match with very educated commentary from JR Calvert and Shaun Wilkie.    The event was hosted by the Hyatt Regency Hotel and took place August 29 through September 2, 2011. Dragon Promotions produced the World 14.1 Tournament and the Straight Pool Hall of Fame banquet which inducted Jerome Keough and Ray "Cool Cat" Martin.
